Jhalawar (Rajasthan), November 7, 2026: Six minor girls, aged between 12 and 17, have been rescued from an alleged prostitution racket in Rajasthan’s Jhalawar district, with police arresting five people in connection with the case.
According to reports, the investigation has pointed towards the alleged involvement of family members and local brokers in the exploitation of the girls. The case has raised serious concerns over the vulnerability of minors and the role of those responsible for their protection.
The rescued girls are between 12 and 17 years old. Their rescue has brought renewed attention to the risks faced by adolescent girls, particularly those who may be dependent on family members or other adults for their safety and livelihood.
Police have arrested five accused as part of the investigation. Further details regarding the identities of those arrested, the circumstances in which the girls were allegedly exploited and the extent of the network are yet to be independently established.
The case also raises broader questions about the effectiveness of child protection mechanisms, particularly when people entrusted with the care of minors are themselves allegedly implicated in their exploitation.
The investigation is expected to establish the individual roles of the accused and determine whether other people were involved in the alleged racket.
The rescued girls’ identities have been withheld to protect their privacy, in accordance with legal safeguards concerning children.
