Newlywed dies at hotel 3 months after marriage; father alleges murder

A newly married woman died after collapsing near a hotel room in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi, with her father alleging that her husband was responsible for her death. The post-mortem report has indicated cardiac arrest as the cause of death, according to a report by the Hindustan Times, while police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The woman, identified as Muskan Simolia, had married Nilesh, a bank manager from Vidisha in Madhya Pradesh, in June this year. The couple was staying at Rishabh Hotel in Jhansi when the incident occurred during checkout on Sunday.

According to police, the husband told investigators that Muskan suddenly fell near the doorway of their hotel room. She was taken to a hospital but could not be saved.

CCTV footage under examination

Police have examined CCTV footage from the hotel, which reportedly shows Muskan approaching the room with her husband and a hotel employee before suddenly collapsing near the entrance.

Jhansi police officials said the woman’s husband reported that she had fallen while they were checking out. Police are examining the available footage and other evidence to establish the circumstances leading to her death.

The post-mortem findings, as reported by Hindustan Times on October 26, indicate cardiac arrest. Police have also said that no visible external injuries were found on the body, according to the report.

Father alleges husband concealed first marriage

Muskan’s father, Ramji Lal Ahirwar, has accused his son-in-law of foul play and demanded a thorough investigation.

He alleged that the family learnt after the wedding that Nilesh had previously married and that his first wife lived in Indore. He further claimed that the alleged concealment had caused tensions between the couple.

The father has questioned the circumstances in which his daughter collapsed and alleged that her husband may have pushed her. These allegations have not been established.

According to media reports, Muskan had returned to her parental home in Jhansi on October 10 to prepare for a railway junior engineer examination scheduled for October 28. Her father alleged that Nilesh arrived in Jhansi on October 23 and took her away the following day, saying they would visit his aunt. The couple instead stayed at a hotel, he claimed.

Police investigation continues

Police have questioned Nilesh and are investigating the allegations made by Muskan’s family. Further action will depend on the evidence collected and the findings of the ongoing investigation.

While the post-mortem report has indicated cardiac arrest, investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding Muskan’s collapse and death. The family’s allegation of murder remains unproven.
